LAT main window

Each review pack or LAT task has its own display with a tab menu and action buttons:

Reviewers who perform a preview-based language acceptance test (for details, see the Language acceptance test overview section) are directed to the LAT main window.

Actions

The following action buttons are available:

  • Start review (starts the review task for the first time) or Continue review (enables you to continue your task from where you left off the last time).

    • Starting or continuing a task means that the first preview with open status will be displayed.

    • Live review does not have the Continue review option.

  • Complete task (marks the task as completed) or Reopen task (reopens a previously completed task).

    • It is not possible to reopen or complete a task that was closed by the project manager.

    • The project manager will be notified when you mark your task as completed.

    • You can only report issues for open tasks. You must reopen a completed task before you can provide additional feedback.

  • Export issues. Export all issues to an Excel file.

The main menu consists of the following tabs:

This display contains the HTML previews that require review.

This menu item is only available for a preview-based LAT. Live LATs do not use previews.

Preview details:

  • Order (#). Preview-by-preview navigation will be done in this order.

  • Name of the preview.

  • Status: Open or Check_blue.png (Approved).

  • Number of strings that are present on this HTML Preview.

  • Number of Bookmarks.

  • Tags.

  • Comment.

  • Date created.Timestamp of the HTML preview creation.

  • Number of Translation issues created for this preview.

  • Number of Non-translation issues created for this preview.

Preview actions:

To activate the actions menu, hover over a preview.

  • Click the Translate_in_context.png icon to display the preview.

  • Click the Complete.png icon to approve the preview.

  • Click the Undo.png icon to reopen the approved preview.

Filtering options:

You can filter previews by::

  • Tags

    • OR: HTML previews containing at least one selected tag are displayed.

    • AND:  HTML previews that contain all selected tags are displayed.

  • Comments.

  • Date

    • Enter a date and specify whether you want to display HTML previews that are older or newer (including the selected date).

This display contains texts (strings that require review. You can create issues for texts in that list.

Text details:

Use the menu.png column selector in the top right-hand corner of the list to display or hide columns and change their order.

  • String ID. This is a unique identifier that allows developers to locate strings within their application.

  • Source text.

  • Target text.

  • Comment (provided by developers).

  • Status: untranslated, translated, reviewed, or validated.

  • Number of issues that were created for this string.

Text actions:

To activate the actions menu, hover over a text.

  • Click the Open_preview.png icon to display the preview containing this text.

  • Click the Plus.png icon to create a new issue (for details, see the Create a LAT issue guide).

  • Click the Edit.png icon to edit previously added issues.

  • Click the Mark_as_translated.png icon to change the current string status.

  • Click the Bookmark.png icon to add a bookmark to an issue. Use this feature to mark strings so that you can filter and process them later.

    A warning will be displayed when a tester completes a task with bookmarked strings.

Filtering options:

You can filter texts by the following criteria:

  • Status: untranslated, translated, reviewed, or validated.

  • Has QA issues.

  • Has translation issues / Has non-translation issues.

  • Has comments from developers.

  • Has HTML previews.

  • Has live links.

  • Has contextual comments.

  • Has bookmark.

  • Machine translated.

Translation and non-translation issues are shown in separate tabs. For more information about issues, see the Issue types article.

Issue details:

  • Issue ID.

  • Original translation.

  • Source text.

  • Priority.

  • Type.

  • Error category.

  • Original translation.

  • Reviewer's Suggestion.

  • Comment (provided by developers).

  • Status: open or fixed.

  • No. of previews where this string appears.

  • Flag.

  • Created by.

  • Date created.

  • String ID. This is a unique identifier that allows developers to locate strings within their application.

Issue actions:

To activate the actions menu, hover over an issue.

  • Click the Translate_in_context.png icon to open the related preview.

  • Click the Complete.png icon to mark the issue as fixed.

  • Click the Undo.png icon to reopen the issue.

  • Click the Edit.png icon to edit the issue.

  • Click the info2.png icon to display issue details.

  • Click the Delete.png icon to delete the issue.

Filtering options:

You can filter issues by the following criteria:

  • Priority.

  • Status.

  • Date.

This tab provides basic information about the review task, such as:

  • The review language.

  • An optional instruction from the project manager.

  • The project manager's details.
