Automate preview deletion

To regularly delete duplicate HTML previews, Rigi subscribers and project managers can use the Preview deletion scheduler automation available in project settings. With it, you can schedule the deletion of previews with or without tags according to your requirements.

Important

HTML previews that are currently used in review packs or documentation books will not be deleted by this automation.

You can only remove such previews after deleting them from the review packs and documentation books that use them, or after deleting those packs and books.

To configure this automation, perform the following steps:

  1. In the project menu, select Settings > Context > Preview deletion.

  2. Click the Create event button in the top right-hand corner. The Schedule automatic duplicate deletion popup will be displayed.

  3. Enable the automation by switching on the Enable toggle.

  4. Specify how often the duplicate HTML previews are to be deleted:

    1. Enter the number of weeks in the Run every ... weeks field.

    2. Select the day(s) on which the deletion is to be performed.

  5. In the Tagged previews policy section, specify whether previews with tags are also to be deleted by the automation.

  6. Click the Save changes button.

The preview deletion scheduler uses the time zone of the user who created or edited the scheduler.

In the Preview deletion section, a table will be displayed, in which you can check the date and time, type, status, and other details for deletion events.

  • To edit the preview deletion scheduler settings, click the Edit event button. Make the necessary changes, then click the Save changes button.

  • To pause or stop the automation, click the Edit event button and switch the Enable toggle off.
