III. Capture snapshots
The Rigi Snapshot app supports the following ways to bring snapshots into the app:
Capture a window. To create snapshots from scratch, perform the following steps:
Open the application from which you will capture snapshots on your local machine.
Important
The application must have delimiters around translatable texts. Otherwise, the OCR cannot be performed. For details, see II. Prepare your application.
In the Rigi Snapshot app, select the required project in the project menu in the top left-hand corner.
In the settings menu, select the Sync Rigi Project option to ensure that the downloaded Rigi strings are up to date.
From the Select Window dropdown on the top bar, select the program in which your application is now running. Your choice will be saved, so next time you open this project, the same program will be preselected.

To capture a snapshot of your application's currently open display, click the Capture button in the top bar. The Rigi Snapshot app will take a snapshot and scan it for translatable text marked with delimiting characters.
Drag and drop image files. You can drop one or more image files (PNG, JPG, JPEG, BMP, GIF) from Finder or File Explorer anywhere on the Rigi Snapshot app window.
Important
Image files dropped or pasted into the Rigi Snapshot app must include delimiters around translatable texts. Otherwise, the OCR cannot be performed.
The drag-and-drop functionality is batch-aware and processes the images in the following way:
Every dropped file immediately gets a thumbnail slot (marked with a processing spinner) in the sidebar. The sidebar order is defined by the drop time and is never reshuffled.
OCR and preview generation run in the background, one file at a time, so you can continue working. Processing spinners turn into real thumbnails as each file is processed.
Overlarge images
If an image is larger than the app's recommended size, a warning dialog appears. It lists the oversized files, suggests a scale factor, and offers a Don't warn again for this project checkbox.
You can change the default drop image scale factor at any time using the Imported Image Scaling slider in Settings > Capture Settings section (for details, see Advanced scan settings > Capture Settings).
Paste from the clipboard. You can paste screenshots from your local machine directly into the Rigi Snapshot app. Copy an image to your clipboard using your system screenshot tool, then press
Cmd+Vfor macOS orCtrl+Vfor Windows. The image will be processed automatically.
Capture or upload all the required snapshots. The snapshots will appear in the Previews section on the left.

To remove a snapshot, hover over it, then click the
icon in the top right-hand corner of that particular snapshot. To delete all snapshots, click the
icon in the top right-hand corner of the Previews section.
