Deactivating AI Translate & TQI at global level

Note

To use this feature, you must purchase an AI Words allowance for your entire XTM Cloud instance. AI Words are source words sent to the LLMs. Words from the translation memory (TM), terminology, the Style guide field, and context segments are NOT counted as AI Words. For details about AI Words calculation and deduction for projects, see AI Words in XTM Cloud. For pricing information, contact your account manager.

Clients running the new Enterprise or Business subscription (for details, see Licensing) receive a free monthly allowance of 100,000 or 50,000 AI Words per XTM Cloud instance, accordingly. These words can be used for one or more of these AI-driven features: AI Translate & TQI (used either with or without the TQI component), AI Post-Edit, and TQI. As a user with the XTM Cloud Administrator role, you can deactivate the AI Translate & TQI feature at global level. When you do so, Project Managers will NOT be able to activate and manage the setting at customer or project levels.

Procedure. To deactivate the AI Translate & TQI feature at global level:

  1. Select Configuration > Settings > AI Control Center > Features.

  2. In the Features tab screen, in the AI Translate & TQI section, select the Manage button.

    Result: the AI Translate & TQI settings pane is displayed on the right-hand side of the Features tab screen.

  3. Select the Deactivate button in the bottom left-hand corner of the AI Translate & TQI settings pane.

    Result: the Deactivate Translate & TQI? popup is displayed.

  4. In the Deactivate Translate & TQI? popup, select:

    • Keep it on to keep the AI Translate & TQI feature active.

    • Deactivate to disable the AI Translate & TQI in your XTM Cloud instance.

    Result: the AI Translate & TQI feature is inactive in your XTM Cloud instance. As a confirmation, the Activated black_circle_checkmark.svg label is no longer displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the AI Translate & TQI section. Project Managers cannot activate and manage it at customer or project levels.

Source text words processed by the selected AI-based features are referred to as AI Words. If you use an XTM-provided LLM subscription, you must purchase an AI Words allowance for your entire XTM Cloud instance. AI Words are deducted from your allowance for every project Job.

The AI Words calculation mechanism is based on project metrics, but the segment qualification mechanisms are different for each of the AI-based features. Because of additional project settings, each AI-based feature can deduct a different number of AI Words for the same source text. For details, see AI Words in XTM Cloud.
