Account and user creation (XTM Connect (Locale))
This topic contains an overview of XTM Connect (Locale), accounts and user accounts, with links to the topics that describe how to create them.
Note
The tasks described in the linked topics below are performed at global level, in XTM Connect (Locale), not for a specific XTM Connect connector.
Accounts
In XTM Connect (Locale), accounts can be created, to enable users from different organizations or groups (such as company departments) to access XTM Connect (Locale) and use it. All accounts are managed in the Accounts screen.
There are two types of account:
Client accounts, described in Creating a new client account.
Agency accounts, described in Creating a new agency account.
User accounts
Users must be created for the client or agency accounts in your XTM Connect (Locale) instance. These users have different functions, depending on whether they are created for a client or agency account.
There are two types of user account:
Client users, described in Creating a new client user.
Agency users, described in Creating a new agency user.
Who can create client or agency accounts, or the users for them?
The ability to create accounts, and the users for them, varies according to the access rights of the person who creates them, as shown in the table below:
Who creates the accounts? | What can they do? |
|---|---|
An administrator in the organization that has implemented an XTM Connect (Locale) instance. | Create agency or client accounts. Add users to any account type. |
An agency user. | Create other agency accounts or client accounts, Add users to each account type. |
A client user. | Can only add other users to their own client account. |
New user confirmation when joining XTM Connect (Locale)
When an Administrator creates a new client or agency user, as described in the topics listed above, the new user is sent an email that invites them to join XTM Connect (Locale). To confirm their account, they must respond to this email. For details, see New users: joining XTM Connect (Locale).
