Checking project cost details
In XTM Portal you can check several cost-related data for your project. Some of the values depend on the deployment configuration set for your XTM Portal instance by XTM Support.
In the menu on the left of the screen, select the project list icon
.In the Project list screen, find the required project. For the relevant project, see these cost-related columns:
Cost estimation date:
It is the date and time when the initial project costs were last estimated.
If the Estimate column, described below, is calculated on the basis of the XTM Cloud dummy assignee functionality, the date and time will be updated when you regenerate the project estimate (for details, see Regenerating a project estimate).
The cost estimation date and time will also be updated when a Project Manager regenerates costs in XTM Cloud.
Estimate:
This value is displayed after the project analysis is finished in XTM Cloud. It is the initial project cost estimate, expressed in the currency selected for the given customer in XTM Cloud. The calculation method depends on the deployment configuration set for your XTM Portal instance:
Full cost generation enabled: the initial project cost is generated on the basis of the XTM Cloud dummy assignee feature. A dummy assignee is an XTM Cloud user with the Linguist role, whose rate cards are used for project cost calculation. When this cost calculation method is enabled, selected XTM Portal users can regenerate project estimates. For details, see Regenerating a project estimate.
Cost generation disabled: the initial project cost is generated on the basis of XTM Cloud proposals or estimates. When this cost calculation method is enabled, XTM Portal users cannot regenerate project estimates. For details, see Regenerating a project estimate.
Final cost: the final invoiced cost generated in XTM Cloud. This value is displayed after the Cost status is changed in XTM Cloud. It can differ from the value in the Estimate column because XTM Cloud Project Managers can sometimes offer a discount price or add a bonus for Linguists for a rush job.
Cost status: the status of the final invoiced cost in XTM Cloud, as set by the Project Manager. The potential cost statuses are:
Not set: the initial status displayed before the final costs are calculated. When this status is displayed, the Final cost column is blank.
To be approved: when this status is displayed, the Final cost column should display the invoice cost. If that is not the case, contact XTM Support.
Not required: when this status is displayed, the Final cost column should display the invoice cost. If that is not the case, contact XTM Support.
Approved: when this status is displayed, the Final cost column should display the invoice cost. If that is not the case, contact XTM Support.
