File encryption

Use the file encryption feature as an advanced level of security that goes beyond just the encryption at the disk and database level. This feature provides an additional security measure to prevent access to your files at the database and disk level. To enable this feature, contact XTM Support:

Project file types that can be encrypted:

  • Source files.

  • Target files.

  • Preview files.

  • Internal XLIFF files.

  • Reference files.

  • Archived project zip folders.

  • Reports.

Current limitations to the file encryption feature:

  • The following file extensions are currently not supported for the project files mentioned above:

    • .ascx.

    • .asp.

    • .aspx.

    • .ini.

    • MadCap file formats.

    • MS Visio file formats.

    • .odp.

    • .ods.

    • .odt.

    • .php

    • .po

    • .rc.

    • .sdf.

    • .stf.

    • .svgz.

    • .sxw.

    • .tpl.

    • .ttx.

    • .txml.

  • These project files are currently not supported:

    • The entire project directories.

    • Video previews.

    • Segment ID images.

    • Additional internal temporary files in the context of the XTM reports.

  • Customizations altering the standard file parsing capabilities are currently not supported. Examples:

    • Custom parsers (e.g., advanced XLIFF configuration, custom filters).

    • PDF files generated from Excel (XLS/XSLX) Multitarget files.

  • Files created after analysis are currently not supported.
