Data – Custom fields – Project custom fields

In XTM Cloud, you can create custom fields for projects. If required, Project Managers can use them when creating a new project (for details, see Creating a project: Custom fields) or editing an existing one (for details, see Project Editor – General information: Custom fields). Project custom fields are also displayed in the Advanced search screen and can be used to filter projects (for details, see Advanced search tab).

Important

The Style Guide solution based on the project custom field has been deprecated in the XTM Cloud version 26.2.

We recommend that you start using the new Style Guide feature, in which you can create multiple Style Guides globally for your XTM Cloud instance. Project Managers can then select one of them for their projects. For details, see Style Guide tab.

Procedure. Adding a new Project custom field

  1. Select Configuration > Data > Custom fields > Project custom fields.

  2. Select the Add button.

    Result: the Add custom field popup is displayed.

  3. In the Add custom field popup:

    1. enter a unique custom field name in the Field name text field.

    2. choose one Field type:

      • Checkbox.

      • Date.

      • Dropdown – enter a list of values that can be selected for this field.

      • Multiple selection – enter a list of values that can be selected for this field.

      • Number.

      • Text field.

    3. select Active if you want your new custom field to already be available for use. If you do not activate it now, you can do so later by editing an existing custom field.

    4. select Obligatory if you want your new custom field to be mandatory.

    5. select Custom MT if you want the custom field to be available in your customized machine translation engine.

    6. at the bottom of the popup, select Save.

Result: the project custom field can be added during project creation or in the project's General information tab screen.
