Customer Editor – Settings: Source file preview

In the Customer list > Settings tab screen, Project Managers can customize the system settings for each customer.

Procedure. To access the Source file preview section of the Customer list > cog-solid_DEL Settings tab:

  1. Select the Customers > Customer list tab.

  2. Select the required customer in the Customer list screen.

    Result: the Customer list > Edit view is opened for the selected customer.

  3. From the left-hand side panel, select Settings.

  4. In the Customer list > cog-solid_DEL Settings tab screen, scroll down to the Source file preview section.

    Result: the Customer list > Settings > Source file preview settings are displayed.

The settings you see in the Source file preview section, and the options selected for them, depend on the system settings made by your XTM Cloud Administrator. All possible settings are listed in the table below.

Insert the URL of an external system with which Linguists will be able to preview the source file while working on the translation.

Use the three fields to specify a URL in the form http://your_server.com or https://your_server.com. To activate this feature, you need to create a service with the capability to process content on the basis of parameters sent by XTM Cloud.

XTM Cloud automatically sends the following parameters to the service:

  • fileName.

  • srcLang.

  • tgtLang.

  • projectName.

  • projectId.

The fileName is composed of the file path + file name. If the source file has been uploaded as one or more single files, the fileName will simply be the file name. If, however, the source file has been uploaded as a .zip file, containing a number of files, in a directory structure, the fileName is composed of the file path plus the file name.
